Election Convention 2010 is the weekend of August 20-22 in beautiful Monterey, CA.
Register today! Online Registration (and discount prices) end Wednesday, August 18th.
Tentative Agenda (subject to change) is available here.
You will be glad you made the trip for this convention! Some of what's in store for you:
- Dinner Keynote Speaker. We're awaiting final confirmation for dinner's keynote speaker: either former State Senator Bruce McPherson or former Assemblymember Fred Keeley. The Salinas Jaycees and the State have raised funds to subsidize the cost of dinner at the hotel.
- A Phenomenal Hotel (and Rate). Regularly north of $300 a night, the Portola Hotel rate we've negotiated is just $110. Have you booked your room yet? Our discounted room block is limited, so don't miss out! You can reserve your room at the prestigious Portola Hotel here.
- Great Training. Video Production Bootcamp, Second! Board Game for Learning Robert's Rules of Order, Team Excellence with Paul Butler, Getting Things Done!, Work/Life Balance & Goal Setting with Paul Butler, and Team Building Ideas for your Chapters and Events. (Download Tentative Agenda (subject to change) for more information.)
- Saturday Outstanding Young Farmer Luncheon. All Jaycees who register online in advance (by August 18th) get lunch free, as part of your registration (that's a $20 savings!). All others may attend for just $5! Offer available while supplies last - and we may sell out before onsite registration at the Convention, so register today! We thank our OYF sponsor, Farm Credit West!
- Friday Night "Around the State" Friday Night Mixer. Answer the age old question: “Who throws the best party?” Enter your room to win a $250 grand prize! Other prizes available as well. Local wineries will be on hand to pour their treasures. (Download Flyer for more information.)
- Saturday Night Comedian. The Sallinas Jaycees are hosting Saturday night and have booked a comedian as part of a great night. No cover charge, with Paid Convention Registration.
- Elections and Board of Directors Meeting.
- Sunday Activities. We're ending things a bit earlier than usual on Sunday to give you time to experience Monterey! Potential activities include (subject to change, pending confirmation): Aquarium, Kayaking on the Bay, Cannery Row Beer Tasting, Wine Tasting at Taste of Monterey, and BBQ Wrap-Up Celebration at the Beach.
Thanks go to the Salinas Jaycees and the San Jose Jaycees for their assistance with planning, programming, and registration.
