The California Jaycees builds tomorrow's leaders today - one member at a time. We learn by doing. Our hands-on training approach gives members the opportunity to run projects and events that enhance the lives of local members as well as California's communities.
How We Build Leaders. Members learn the skills needed to plan major projects, motivate groups, problem-solve, budget, run meetings, and much more! By participating on committees, chairing events, and serving on the Board of Directors, an individual learns how to delegate, manage and work as a team with other civic-minded people. Chapters encourage members to develop new ideas and undertake new initiatives in order to realize their leadership potential. This experience offers members the opportunity to grow through success and failure in a safe and positive environment.
As a member of an international organization, members have the opportunity to not only develop leadership skills in their own chapters, but to develop them on a larger scale at the state, national, or even international level - working with other young professionals across cultures and countries.
Skills We Hone & Develop. Great leaders need great skills. We've listed just a few of the leadership skills that active members develop as Jaycees.
