9th Annual “Fight It! 5K” benefiting the Brenda Mehling Cancer Fund

The signature fundraising event for the Brenda Mehling Cancer Fund (BMCF) takes place annually in May in the Santa Clarita Valley and is produced by the SCV Jaycees. This competitive run/walk takes place on the cross country course through Central Park in Santa Clarita.

Last year, the event raised thousands of dollars for the BMCF; a local nonprofit focused on providing financial relief to young adult cancer patients. Founded in 2001 by Brenda Mehling and Kieran Wong, along with the help of the Santa Clarita Valley Jaycees, it has donated over $185,000 to patients ages 18 to 40.

This years race includes a 5K and 1K and will take place on May 15th, 2010 at Central Park in Saugus. Dogs are welcome.  Visit www.bmcf.net for more information about the fund and upcoming events.

Check-in will begin at 7:00am. Warm-ups will begin at 7:30am. Race will start at 8:00am. Awards ceremony will begin at 9:00am.
